FOREWORD Since the beginning, i've always tried my best to write B&D novels that are viable. This is to say, that COULD be true. Recently i've realized my efforts have fallen somewhat short of that mark. While not coming up with anything that was frankly impossible. (I.E. leaving someone's skin raw one day and having it magically healed and ready for more of the same on the next day) The stories i've composed have been a bit on the corny side. (Although Desire to Know came closest to being real.) So i've been thinking about it. The fact of the matter is it's EASIEST to write about B&D when the situation is perfect. I mean isn't it better to read about a dominant who has absolutely no trouble finding willing submissives rather than reading about a dominant who's experiences are a little further and farther between. Isn't it more of a turn on to read about a situation where all the variables are a given? It's an easy formula. Man meets woman. (Or the opposite) Become friends. Woman confesses in offhand conversation she's always wanted to be dominated by a man. ZAP!! Cut to Man's playroom that is in actuality a dungeon the Gestapo would have been proud to have. You know what happens from there. Sure it's a turn-on. That's the whole idea. But I have a little problem with that. IT'S NOT REALISTIC. I've had quite a bit of experience in the B&D scene and that just isn't the way it happens. (Or at least that's not the way it's happened to me.) I've often thought about writing a novel where the dominant (Or plural if it were to be a multi character story) isn't necessarily in complete control of themselves at all times. But until now i've dismissed that idea as being a little on the silly side. But what the fuck is wrong with a dominant who ALSO happens to make mistakes from time to time? Who may actually have to ASK their submissive whether or not it's being laid on too thick? Or may not always know exactly wha they need or want? Here's the bottom line. If the kind of story you'd rather read is quick and to the point you'd do well to delete these files right now. What you're about to read is as real as possible without actually being a true story. But you never know. It may be a little truer than you think. Enjoy. Robert Storm. (Punisher)
